Grove Community Garden

Your Garden Needs You

The Grove community garden is by the community for the community. Everyone helps and all we do is for free.

The Grove as a whole relies on all gardeners to make a commitment. Without such people, the garden would cease to be.

There are different Grove Groups you can get involved in.

- Events & Outreach Group
- Builders Group
- Gardners Group

By being an active part of these groups you can make a difference to the garden, learn new and valuable skills and most importantly have fun.

The garden has a committee.

Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings of the committee. We encourage you to attend meetings concerning the garden, as we would like your ideas and suggestions. You will find that attending meetings, generally held at The Grove, will help you to facilitate your involvement and present you with an opportunity to share ideas. We appreciate that people may not always be able to attend meetings, but please be proactive when opportunities present themselves, such as our workshops, clean- up events and much more.

We aim to hold two main events every year. These events take considerable effort to organise and their success depends on the involvement and contribution of all of us. One event is our yearly birthday party in Spring which is there to really enjoy what we have achieved. The other is a open doors event to show the people of Edinburgh our great community garden and simply have a fun day. These events are very enjoyable for all concerned and they bring to garden a sense of community and togetherness.

An annual general meeting (AGM) every year is held. All gardeners should attend this meeting. The Committee Office Bearers are elected at the AGM.

Our committee currently has elected office bearers who take responsibility for specific areas i.e. Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.

The Grove has developed into a great place, which serves the community in a unique way. .
