DESCRIPTION
The Scout Association has nearly 900 Scout Districts across the United Kingdom. Each District is responsible for providing support to its member Scout Groups and is in turn supported by a Region. Edinburgh North East District has fourteen Scout Groups and four Explorer Scout Units and is supported by South East Scotland Region.
Edinburgh North East District (ENE) covers the geographical area of Portobello, Craigentinny, Craigmillar, Duddingston, Calton, Joppa, Stockbridge, Pilrig, Broughton, Trinity, Leith, Newhaven, Wardie and Willowbrae. It is responsible for the Scout Groups and Explorer Units in the District. Edinburgh North East has Beaver, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer groups.
In Scouting we offer fun, friendship and adventure to young people in five sections according to age. There is an emphasis on outdoor activities throughout. The older sections take increasing responsibility for the running of their programme.
Scouting is run by adult volunteers.
