Covid-19 UPDATE...

COVID-19 has had a disproportionate effect on people who were already struggling with complex life circumstances. We've responded to meet the need.

Venture Trust staff continue to provide personal development and wellbeing support through face to face and small group interactions, as well as by phone and digital platforms. We are also actively seeking support to combat ‘data poverty’ for people with limited means to buy airtime or who usually rely on public wi-fi.

At Venture Trust we are prepared to adapt the delivery of our outdoor personal development services for the people we support.

In line with Government and public health guidelines, we have developed a programme format that is compatible with varying levels of COVID-19 related restrictions. We’ve focused on designing delivery for small groups of participants within their local authority restrictions – so minimising travel, transmission risks, adhering to best practice and the Scottish Government’s guidance in these areas whilst retaining our unique approach to training and engagement.

See potential...

We are supporting people to gain the life skills, stability and confidence needed to reach their potential. Through person-centred support in communities and experiential learning in the outdoors we challenge individuals to reflect on beliefs, attitudes and behaviours so they can unlock skills and learn new, more positive, ways of approaching situations.

We believe no one should be left behind because they are struggling with adversity, inequality or vulnerability. That is why we are supporting people to gain the life skills, stability and confidence needed to reach their potential.

By building trust and ensuring that people feel safe they can explore their complex experiences through personal development and therapy in their community and the Scottish outdoors.

The outdoors offers inherent challenge for individuals to reflect on beliefs, attitudes and behaviours. With time and space away from influences at home, individuals can unlock skills and learn new, more positive, ways of approaching situations.

We focus on the path to a positive future, without forgetting what led people to us. Each person’s circumstances and needs sit at the centre of our approach. By recognising the impact that trauma or inequality plays we can adapt our support to maximise people’s strengths, equipping them with long-term solutions. Together, we can tackle the inequality and complex needs which leave some people on the margins of society.
