In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

Barclay Viewforth Church is a parish church of the Church of Scotland in the Presbytery of Edinburgh. It is located at the border between the Bruntsfield and Tollcross areas of the city at the junction of Barclay Place and Wright's Houses.

What makes Barclay Viewforth unique is that it is a genuinely mixed group of people - old and young, families and students. Barclay Viewforth is a diverse congregation - from families who have worshipped in the church for many years to young professional workers and students including international ones who become part of the congregation while staying in Edinburgh. The church building - opened for worship in 1864 as a congregation of the Free Church of Scotland - was originally known as "The Barclay Church" after Mary Barclay whose legacy paid for its building, which is located in Tollcross, about one mile South of Edinburgh's West End. The parish stands in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle and adjacent to the Meadows.

Strong, Bible-based teaching is an important and integral part of each service. The morning service is fairly traditional with organ music and choir-led singing, while the evening service uses modern music and a more flexible order of worship. There are activities for children aged 3-13 and a crèche at the morning service while a youth group (aged 14+) meets before the evening service. During the week a number of house groups meet and there are small groups for students and young adults, and older people.
