Barnardo's - Caern House

Barnardo’s Scotland has been working in Scotland for more than a century. Our purpose is to reach out to the most disadvantaged children, young people, families and communities to help ensure that every child has the best possible start in life. We aim to make sure that every young person is able to reach their full potential, whatever their circumstances in life.

Barnardo’s Scotland provides more than 130 community-based services throughout the country working with over 26,500 vulnerable children, young people and their families.

The Caern Project...

Caern House is a respite service for children with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or autism based at Gogarbank in Edinburgh.

Our core service is overnight respite. We also offer outreach and a therapeutic intervention service.

We are a flexible service and will consider any request to work children with additional support needs.
