DESCRIPTION
Set up in 2015, Colinton Community Council (ColCC) is a statutory body, run by local residents, which aims to represent Colinton’s views to the City Council (CEC), Scottish Government (SG)and any other relevant body.
We are the first port of call when external people or organisations seek the views of Colinton people and we run open meetings and local consultations to help us determine what these are. We also act as an information hub, passing on information about legislation, consultations, planning, grants -but also about things like traffic, roadworks, proposed developments and local events.
We have a Notice Board in the village centre on the Pharmacy wall.
We advise local groups and individuals who seek our help, regardless of any views ColCC, or individual members of ColCC, may hold.
We have a special relationship with the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC), and our City Councillors are valued (though non-voting) members of our Community Council.
We operate under a Constitution and the Scheme for Community Councils
