CrossReach was launched in June 2005, and had previously been known as the Church of Scotland Board of Social Responsibility. Under our new name CrossReach continues the Church of Scotland's long tradition of providing care and support. In fact, this work started back in 1869, so we have a long history in the field of social care.
This is a short-stay, supported hostel for homeless people located in the heart of Edinburgh.
At Cunningham House we also have the Rankeillor Initiative which operates two projects:
This project provides temporary supported accommodation for men recovering from drug/alcohol misuse in shared flats in central Edinburgh.
The aims and objectives of the project are to support people to move on to a more independent lifestyle by providing both practical and emotional support.
Edinburgh Homelessness Prevention Service:
Rankeillor Initiative represents CrossReach within a consortium which includes Cyrenians, CHAI, Penumbra and Health in Mind. The consortium delivers this service with the City of Edinburgh Council.
This service provides advice and support for vulnerable people who are in danger of becoming homeless.
