Welcome to Ecas, the voluntary organisation dedicated to supporting physically disabled adults.
Ecas provides a range of therapeutic, learning and social activities for physically disabled adults including art, craft, reading & creative writing, swimming, yoga, seated tai chi, music and computing. Our activities are specifically designed for people with physical disabilities, and we can provide support with transport costs. No previous experience is necessary, and we provide all materials for the activities.
Our befriending service is for socially isolated, disabled adults living in Edinburgh.
We welcome enquiries from potential clients and potential volunteers.
By physically disabled we mean any person who is long-term and significantly disabled through impairment of the musculo-skeletal, neurological or cardio-respiratory systems of the body.
We regret that the following conditions on their own do not meet the criteria for participation in Ecas activities: psychiatric disorders, learning difficulties, behavioural disorders, developmental delay, Down’s Syndrome, Autism, visual or hearing impairment, Cancer, Diabetes, Epilepsy, HIV and back pain.
