information DESCRIPTION

Edinburgh & Lothian Council (ELCA) offers a free confidential specialist, advice, information, support and one-to-one counselling service for anyone worried about their own or someone else's drinking. The service is open to anyone aged 16 and over who resides in Edinburgh or the Lothians, and from any background.

This service works with people aged 18 years and over who are worried about their own drinking. It also supports people who are worred about the drinking of a family member, partner or friend. It provides advice, information and one to one counselling.

We have bases in Craigmillar, Gracemount, Wester Hailes, Sighthill, Leith, Pennywell/Crewe, Kirkliston, South Queensferry and Oxgangs. It offers offers services at the Willow Project and Edinburgh Women's Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre.

ELCA is a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy & COSCA – Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland.

Monday - Thursday, 9am - 9pm
Friday 9am - 4pm
Saturday 9:30am - 2pm

Service Hours

Monday - Thursday, 9:30am - 8:45pm
Friday 9:30am - 3:45pm
Saturday 9:30am - 2:00pm

Answering machine outwith these hours.

Referrals to our service can be made by individuals, GP's, Social Workers, Employers and other related agencies.

All our counsellors are fully trained and can help individuals work through some of the many underlying issues as to why they drink.
