Gate 55 is a community hub providing library and support services, clubs for all ages, parent groups, exercise classes and access to learning, training, employment and beauty treatments. The activities on offer range from everyday English to book clubs and homework help.
The centre, developed through a partnership between the City of Edinburgh Council and Edinburgh College, provides adults and young people with access to a range of learning and training opportunities in literacy and numeracy, parenting programmes, skills development and accredited learning.
Activities such as Zumba, carpet bowls, yoga or archery are on offer for local people and children. Young people have access to after-school clubs, homework clubs, youth clubs and holiday activities. The Youth Zone gives young people a dedicated area with a youth café and games room.
