The Lighthouze

The Lighthouze is an Edinburgh based youth charity.

We work with the youth, helping them find their passions, build resilience while giving and taking part in the community.

We aim to provide advancement of education by assisting young people in Edinburgh to be confident, resilient and ready to reach their full potential by creating a network of youth groups and delivering services which will help young people to learn, succeed and make positive contributions to their communities.

Also we aim to assist advancement of citizenship or community development by providing young people in Edinburgh particularly the Craigmillar area the means, resources and support to enable them to play an inclusive and active part in the social, economic, cultural and political life of the operating area through involvement in the arts and events.

To encourage young people in Edinburgh aged 5-25 and above to find new interests, to form positive relationships with other people and to contribute to developments in their own communities.

We want to provide a safe environment for young people in Edinburgh to explore relevant health, social and economic issues. We aim to do this through the involvement of arts, and the promotion of art clubs, cooking classes, music clubs and science clubs. In particular to facilitate, encourage and develop creations of local people by providing access to different forms of art.

We want to help provide young people with the means, resources, support and encouragement to play an inclusive and active part in the community.
