The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

IMPORTANT

Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

Existing tenants of West Granton Housing Co-operative who wish to apply for a transfer to another house should contact the WGHC office to request an internal transfer application form.

Otherwise vacancies are filled from EdIndex, the housing list used by most Edinburgh social landlords.

What is EdIndex?

Anyone who is 16 years or older can apply for housing in Edinburgh through EdIndex. EdIndex is a partnership between the Council and 20 Housing Associations and Housing Co-operatives in Edinburgh. You only need to complete one application form to register for housing with all the landlords.

How do I get an application form?

It’s easy to apply for a home. You can download the EdIndex application form at http://keytochoice.scotsman.com/. Please note you are not able to complete the form on line. You can also pick up a form from any of the EdIndex landlords (housing associations) and local Council Neighbourhood Offices.

Once completed you should send the form to: The EdIndex Team, Business Centre 1.4, Waverley Court, 4 East Market Street, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG. You can hand in the form to any of the Council Neighbourhood Offices.

WGHC is a relatively small landlord with a low turnover. This means that we have very few vacancies and therefore most weeks we will not have any houses advertised.

If you do see a suitable WGHC property listed you may bid for it. In order to make bids you must be registered with EdIndex. You only need to fill in one application to register with both Edinburgh Council and 20 Edinburgh housing associations and co-operatives.

WGHC properties advertised through Key to Choice will be allocated from a shortlist of those bidders. We allocate in accordance with our allocations policy and letting plans. Our aim is to house those most in need, to maintain and promote sustainable communities and to act openly and fairly.

WGHC does not have any shared ownership or shared equity properties. All our housing is for rent and there is no right to buy.
