DESCRIPTION
West Granton Housing Cooperative (WGHC) is a fully mutual cooperative housing association providing affordable housing for rent in North Edinburgh.
We are based in north Edinburgh where we own, manage and maintain 372 houses and flats. These properties are rented to WGHC members at affordable rents.
We provide general needs housing with a small number of amenity housing for either disabled or older persons
West Granton Housing Co-operative Limited (WGHC) was formed in 1990 by residents of the West Granton area of north Edinburgh in order to provide new rented housing in an area dominated by low demand council housing.
WGHC is a Registered Social Landlord (RSL). That means our work is monitored by the Scottish Housing Regulator on behalf of the Scottish Government. We must operate within the law and we try to operate at all times fairly, efficiently and in accordance with best practice.
We are an independent, not for profit company. Our management committee consists solely of tenants.
Our aim is to provide the best quality of housing we can at rents affordable to our tenants. We also try to contribute to improving and supporting the local environment and local community activities.
