SERVICE DETAILS
Our Befriending Service involves matching an elderly Service User within the EH10 & EH13 areas with one of our friendly and understanding Volunteers who are looking to dedicate their time reducing loneliness and isolation in our community.
Befriending can involve home visits where the Service User and the Volunteer can enjoy new company and conversations, play games with a cuppa, go for outdoor walks or visit local cafes/shops, or sometimes just a chat on the phone.
Our Volunteers normally visit on a weekly basis. Visits normally last between 1-2 hours. The match success is closely monitored by our Volunteer Coordinator.
The aim is to increase confidence and provide new opportunities for social interaction for our vulnerable elderly clients.
