Oxgangs Care is a Day Centre for people over the age of 60 in the EH10 and EH13 areas in Edinburgh. We are a small and vibrant team with fully trained support staff and hold full registration with Care Inspectorate. We receive all our referrals through Social Care Direct, once this is received, we then come and visit you at home to tell you a bit more about us, gather information about you and arrange a potential start date.
The service is for older adults living in Oxgangs and the surrounding areas including Colinton Mains, Swanston, Morningside, Fairmilehead and Firrhill. We want to reach people with dementia; life-limiting illnesses; those experiencing social isolation and loneliness to help them remain active and connected within their own communities. Through access to our Day Service, people can choose a varied programme of activities within our centre, whilst putting forward suggestions of their own.
Oxgangs Care is a fully inclusive service and will endeavour to be respectful and sensitive to the cultural, religious and gender needs of everyone who uses our service. Our Day Centre is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
We provide transport both ways, hot meals, planned activities, live entertainment and the opportunity to meet new people and form companionships. (There is a small charge for the bus and lunch each day) But most importantly; we have fun!
