The Cameo Club (Come And Meet Each Other) has welcomed people since 1998 and was formed with the object of drawing the elderly or semi-housebound out of their homes to meet others from the congregation and from the local community.
The Cameo Club is now for anyone in the Blackhall and surrounding area who may be housebound or who would like to meet others for a chat and refreshments.
The group meets in the large hall of the church on alternative Fridays from 10/10:15am until 12:00pm.
Tea, coffee, pancakes and cakes are served and this is followed by some form of entertainment, i.e. games, music, story-telling, plus two outings per year in May and December.
Volunteer drivers are available if required.
New members are always welcome and further information can be obtained from the church office.
Volunteers to help either by fetching the visitors by car, helping with the refreshments, entertaining or helping with other activities, will be made most welcome.
There is no charge to come along to Cameo Club on a Friday. Only time there is a charge is when the group have their summer outing and have to pay for lunch, and also their Christmas Dinner.
This is a church run community group. You do not need to be a member of the congregation to attend the group. We are pleased to see anyone from the district and can arrange transport if required.
