Caring in Craigmillar provides a registered day care service that prevents isolation and improves the quality of life for vulnerable older people with complex care needs and those with a diagnosis of Dementia in the local community. We offer a comfortable, non-stigmatised centre for older people to enjoy stimulating activities and the company of others in order to meet their needs, enabling them to maintain skills and encouraging community integration.
A typical day involves members being picked up on the minibus and welcomed into the centre with tea and toast, a nutritious two course meal at lunchtime. Refreshments are offered throughout the day.
We provide a structured programme of activities including memory games, music, storytelling, knitting, woodwork; movies; arts & crafts; walking groups, gardening groups and day trips/outings.
Gentle Exercise takes place every morning at 11:30am.
Caring in Craigmillar offer a transport service to collect and drop off clients direct to their homes.
The cost for this service is £8.00 per day.
