Edinburgh Chill Youth Club is a supportive and creative social club to boost self-confidence and build life skills.
Feeling isolated can make us feel sad, excluded, and affect us in all sorts of ways. Chill is a network of support for anyone who feels they need people to talk to, to do things with, and be part of a group of friends.
SLCo's Edinburgh Chill Youth Club supports 16-25 year olds with lifelong speech, language and/or communication difficulties.
There is a specific focus on the young people building connections and friendships with each other as well as improving social confidence, resilience and self-esteem. We are aware that many young people feel isolated due to their communication difficulties and require support for developing independence and their social skills.
We provide a trusted and safe space where they can enjoy a wide range of fun activities which have been driven by their input and interests. Additionally, through consultation with the young people involved we hold specialist 'Workshops' as part of the Youth Club sessions and these are delivered by our partners across the City.
Our club runs every Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
The club is for children and young people who experience speech, language and communication problems.
A parent/ carer support group runs at the same time as the Chill Youth Club.
