A community group for the Cammo Estate in Edinburgh, Scotland
Friends of Cammo undertakes activities on the Cammo Estate, including tree planting, litter pickups and creating wildflower meadows.
It opens the visitor centre at Cammo Lodge on Thursday mornings and Sunday afternoons.
- Environmental improvements-areas of wildflowers, tree and hedgerow planting, maintaining pinetum and litter picks
- Annual barbecue
- Liaise with Natural Heritage Officer- past projects have included commissioning interpretation panels and laying a hedge
- Develop ideas for future projects and seek grant funding where needed
- Inform members and comment on development planning matters affecting the Estate
We also meet a few times a year to discuss ongoing issues and projects we are working on, usually with a guest speaker and refreshments.
