WHAT IS IT?
Young Women Lead is a leadership programme ran by YWCA Scotland for women and non-binary people aged 16 – 30. This programme provides young people with a unique and exciting safe space to share their experiences and work together to create real tangible change. Working in different local authority areas across Scotland, we focus on providing free training opportunities and engaging with local democracy through facilitating a group project tackling a local issue. Participants will be supported to make a real difference in their local area, gain access to experts, training, and skills that will benefit them and help to build their CV.
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
This 6-month programme is split into six stages:
Stage 1: Induction and getting to know each other in one full day meeting
Stage 2: Training split into two 2-hour meetings
Stage 3: Planning your group project in one full day meeting
Stage 4: Time for your group project work split into two 2-hour meetings
Stage 5: Engagement with local experts to support your group project split into two 2-hour meetings
Stage 6: Project plan completion and programme graduation
