Punjabi Junction is Sikh Sanjog, Social Enterprise Community Café. Formally Punjab'n De Rasoi, the café due to great success over the last three and half years is now relaunched as Punjabi Junction recently , where you can step back in time as we have recreate the feel of an old Indian train.
Punjabi junction offers a blend of traditional Punjabi home cooked cuisine mixed with a great social enterprise giving opportunity, social inclusion and support to women from the capital’s minority Ethnic background.
The café provides cookery classes, outside catering and of course a fantastic café where the food is packed with spice and the atmosphere is full of laughter and banter.
Curry Friday offers a curry delivery service each Friday to office workers who want to end their working week with a punch.
The café, Punjab'n de Rasoi, opened in March 2010 to provide Minority Ethnic (ME) women with training and employment opportunities, develop confidence and reduce social exclusion and promote and sustain the Sikh culture in Edinburgh. The café is a social enterprise with the profit made being used to support the charity’s core activities.
Punjabi cuisine is food from the Punjab region of northwestern India and eastern Pakistan. Punjabi cuisine is its diverse range of dishes, it can be non-vegetarian or completely vegetarian.
One of the main features of Punjabi cuisine can vary significantly, with restaurant style using large amounts of ghee, clarified butter, our cafe prepares meals with liberal amounts of butter and cream with home cooking concentrating on mainly upon preparations with whole wheat, rice and other ingredients flavoured with masala.
