Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

24-hour Nursing Care / Specialist Care

Is our largest care home and is located in the quiet Grange area of Edinburgh. Offering 50 en-suite bedrooms, the home is a beautiful art deco building easily accessed from the centre of town.

Located in the exclusive Grange, St Raphael’s is an impressive art deco building. A former hospital, it has been completely transformed into a bright and airy home with 51 ensuite rooms. The attractive grounds include a specially designed Sensory Garden, a safe and beautiful space for our residents to enjoy. Some of the bedrooms also have direct access to a roof garden with grass and flower beds. Inside, our comfortable lounges provide stunning views across to Blackford Hill and are perfect to spend a quiet afternoon in. On the ground floor, the dining room and conservatory, complete with barn and sitting area, are at the heart of all the activity. This is where our popular singing group, Viewpoint Voices, meets for practice. St Raphael’s is a vibrant place, full of character and offering a wide range of activities for all. A movie night, day trip to the beach or a spot of gardening, the choice is yours. Run by an exceptional nursing and care team, St Raphael’s is bustling with life. We look forward to welcoming you.

Activities
Activity is important to us all. Social activities and events are organised by our Activities Coordinators, who make sure a varied programme is in place to suit the interests of our residents. In a typical week these could include the gardening club, film nights, a visit to the theatre, reminiscence groups, live music performances or an afternoon in our Craft Cafe.

Examples of our summer outings; Ratho Barge, North Berwick for Fish and Chips, Pentland Plants for afternoon tea, Portobello for ice cream, Saughton Gardens for a look around the Rose Garden and many more.
