information SERVICE DETAILS

North Edinburgh Arts (NEA) is a multi-faceted arts centre which allows greater scope to engage in varied volunteer opportunities that support many interesting and creative activities on offer for local families. North Edinburgh Arts is situated in the heart of Muirhouse and we strive to enhance and provide creative opportunity to help people in their lives through engagement with the arts. As it states on the entrance to NEA, arts are…, breaking down barriers, transformation, growth and freedom of thought.

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in what we do and our values, would like to share their skills and who would like to give something back to the people who live within our community.

All opportunities can be found on our current volunteering opportunities page at https://northedinburgharts.co.uk/current-volunteering-opportunities.

We provide opportunities in the following areas, however we are always open to creating bespoke volunteering opportunities to meet the needs of North Edinburgh Arts and your educational or personal development.

Café: This is often the best place to develop your English skills, get to know local residents, learn skills, work with a supportive and friendly team and gain skills in working in a busy and vibrant cafe.

Administration: We offer students the opportunity to learn about arts administration, such as monitoring and evaluation, funding, reception and box office, and project administration.

Creative: Students can develop their experience working creatively with children, young people and families and can gain skills and greater understanding of child development, facilitating sessions and projects, working within a creative team, and developing their own piece of creative work.

Garden: North Edinburgh Arts has a productive and abundant garden that is used by the community and local projects. There are many opportunities to develop experience in this area such as working with children and young people, learning about horticulture, biodiversity, sustainability, environmental policy and more.

We can tailor educational or volunteering experiences to meet both your and our needs.

We are always delighted to hear from anyone with an interest in contributing to our work.
