Covid-19 Service UPDATE...

Calling our helpline for advice...

Our advice helpline is the best way to contact us for any emergencies and urgent housing advice matters. We will answer your call as quickly as possible and treat it confidentially. Our advisers can give you immediate, practical advice, tell you your rights, offer guidance, and link you in with specialist or local services to help you longer term.

Free Advice

Claiming the correct welfare benefits and getting financial support to pay your rent is important to Blackwood therefore we have a dedicated support service that is free to all tenants.

We use a company called Shelter Scotland to deliver this service. They can visit you at home, meet you in the office or speak to you over the telephone. They are specialists at helping understand the maze of the benefits system but also helping to manage your debt, if you have any, and helping you to manage your money in the best way for you.

You can access this service directly using the telephone number below or you can ask your Housing Officer to refer you.

If you have any concerns about paying your rent, need advice about rent arrears or other debts then call us NOW! We are here to help.

Blackwood has partnered with Shelter Scotland to provide financial advice to tenants.

- Find out information from their Website at https://scotland.shelter.org.uk/ or
- Telephone Shelter Scotland helpdesk 0808 800 4444 (open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday)

We know money might be tight, but you need to prioritise paying your rent. If you miss your rent payments, you could risk losing your home. We can offer support to help you manage your rent payments, even if you're already in debt- but you need to talk to us. Your Housing Officer can help get you back on track with a repayment plan you can afford.

Once you've made a repayment agreement our financial partners, Shelter Scotland, can help you get on top of any debt and can help you budget to make sure that you stick to the repayment plan.
