information DESCRIPTION

Marie Curie is the largest independent provider of end of life care and the largest charitable provider of hospice care beds in Scotland.

As well as nursing and hospice care, you'll find Helper volunteers and Marie Curie charity shops across the country. We also do policy campaigning and we're the largest charitable funder of research work to improve end of life care.

Nursing...

Marie Curie Nurses care for people in their own home or in the community in 31 out of 32 local authority areas in Scotland. Read our latest inspection reports.

Although we don't currently provide nursing care in Shetland, people there can use our free information and support services and feel the benefits of our research and campaigning activities.

Hospices...

Our hospices in Edinburgh and Glasgow provide short-term inpatient care, various outpatient day services and family support. Our community teams also visit people in their own home to provide care and support.

We also work in a unique partnership with NHS Lothian and Macmillan Cancer Support to provide the West Lothian Community Palliative Care Service, based at St John’s Hospital in Livingston.

Helper Volunteers...

Our trained Helper volunteers offer support to people who might need emotional support with all aspects of their terminal illness, or some practical help.
