The Murrayfield Dementia Project known locally as the Murrayfield Club. Located within Murrayfield Parish Church.
Established in 1990, the club has been uniquely and successfully developed for people, mainly over 65, who are frail elderly and/or with early stage Dementia. We provide a service that delivers enjoyable companionship, longer healthier life opportunities and relief for carers.
The club is a non-registered day care service for people living in North West Edinburgh.
The Murrayfield Club is run in partnership with Murrayfield Churches Together (MCT) with support aid from the City of Edniburgh Council and Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation.
Our accessible day service provides person-centred activity sessions in partnership with members and their carers whose needs have been identified by our Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) trained staff.
Since 1995 the underlying philosophy of the club’s day service is to create an environment in which members and their carers feel safe, comfortable and at ease.
This club meets three times weekly. Two sessions are focused on people with Dementia (max 10 at each session) and ten frail elderly on a Tuesday.
Murrayfield Churches Together (MCT) member churches are:
- Church of the Good Shepherd (Scottish Episcopal Church)
- Murrayfield Parish Church (Church of Scotland)
- Saughtonhall United Reformed Church
