Families Need Fathers Scotland is now Shared Parenting Scotland.
We support separating parents to share parenting amicably for the benefit of their children.
Shared Parenting Scotland is a registered Scottish charity which provides information and support to parents, including unmarried parents, of either sex and is chiefly concerned with the problems of maintaining a child's relationship with both parents during and after family breakdown.
Founded in 1974, Shared Parenting Scotland helps thousands of parents every year.
We believe the best possible outcomes for children can be achieved in having two loving, positive and nurturing parents available to share the load, even if it has to be at different times and in separate homes.
We offer support, advice and guidance on the Scottish Family Law environment in relation to maintaining contact between children and non-resident parents. We can help identify rights and responsibilities. We can find solicitors who can advise and help the adults and the children to assert those rights too.
The service we offer is free and is open to anyone – male or female, young or old, parent or child, step-parents, partners, grandparents, aunts, uncles – or professionals - who could use our help in understanding and navigating the potentially fraught environment which can arise following relationship breakdown.
We offer support in Group Meetings each month in Edinburgh, plus we have an office in Edinburgh.
We are also available for presentations and 1-2-1 chats.
