The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

Jubilee 2

Is held in the Fraser Lounge in Carrick Knowe Church and provides day care for a maximum of 10 people per day. Most attend one day per week but when available a second day can be offered.

Members are picked up by minibus, the bus setting out from Carrick Knowe about 9.30am and returning with the members to a welcome cup of tea or coffee and toast. This provides an opportunity for general chat and discussion about recent news, both personal and national. Two day-care staff , assisted by volunteers, give a very personal approach to members.

After our sociable start the day proceeds with activities which are designed to provide stimulation, boost self-esteem and foster a sense of achievement. Gentle exercises to music are also included and singing is recognised as a valuable resource. Lunch, which is bought in, consists of nourishing soup, assorted sandwiches followed by tea/coffee and a biscuit.

The minibus comes at 2pm for the return journey and members are safely escorted to their homes.
