People Know How are delivering computers and devices to those in Edinburgh and East Lothian who need help staying connected, accessing support or home-schooling during the coronavirus outbreak.
We refurbish donated computers and deliver them to the doorstep, with phone support available throughout set-up.
Our donation campaigns have been overwhelmed by your support, and we have so far received over 1,000 devices. After donation, we refurbish these donated devices, prepared for our partners Venture Scotland to deliver them to recipients’ doorsteps. Once delivered, we provide phone support throughout set-up.
From an initial project pilot involving a partnership between us and Edinburgh Remakery to refurbish our first twelve computers donated by the University of Edinburgh, we have grown the project and taken on the refurbishment and follow up support of hundreds of devices. We expect to have delivered over 1,000 devices by the end of the year.
We are still open for donations and referrals and aim to help as many people as possible with this project.
