LOVE Gorgie Farm is operated by charity LOVE Learning, which is part of the LOVE Group. Through it, the farm operates as a centre supporting and improving the employability prospects of those in our communities.

Below there is a breakdown of our employability and training sessions as well as our holistic workshops. We also offer the Vocational Care Pathway, focused on care experienced people and armed forces veterans building a career within the care sector.

EMPLOYABILITY AND TRAINING PROGRAMMES

At LOVE Gorgie Farm we deliver a range of employability and training programmes to support the career opportunities of our communities.

Our employability plans are tailored for each participant where skills and aptitudes are empowered through a unique learning model, tailored training and SQA accredited qualifications.

Our courses are aimed at those entering the world of Social Care and Early Years, this is primarily due to our extensive links with employers and also being able to offer employment opportunities ourselves within our associated partners the LOVE Group.

We also run generic employability programmes aimed at those who may not know which industry they wish to enter but perhaps want to gain a wider understanding of the world of work. These include pre-employment training around personal development.

Educational Model
Our services are based upon a unique educational model based on the ideal of bringing together social care services and education.

Employability for Each
We deliver bespoke packages with “Employability for Each” and provide training to help people reach the best of their capabilities and realise their potential in full.

SQA Centre and Individual Training Plans
We provide every candidate an Individual Training Plan tailored to meet the individual needs of the candidate and containing the guidance and support that will enable and encourage progression to sustained employment, employment with training or further education.

We maximise the work experience opportunity to include certification of the employability skills developed by the candidate through SQA recognised Employability Awards.

We are a unique SQA centre that has a person centred, evidence and trauma led approach to working with vulnerable young people and adults. With a vast working experience and knowledge of those from minority and excluded groups, we are in a position to deliver successful training to allow candidates to progress no matter what their barriers are.

HOLISTIC WORKSHOPS

Delivered in a holistic way, our workshops are focused on ensuring that even the most excluded can achieve and experience positive learning environments either in school or within their community.

Growth Mindset and Personal Development are included in our holistic workshops. Understanding ourselves, where we are in society and how we manage our mind is crucial to change and improve each one of us. At LOVE Gorgie Farm, can help you to better understand your own behaviour and emotional intelligence.

All participants carry out an induction that includes baseline assessments that are used in the workshop evaluation. They are evaluated by both soft indicators like self-esteem and confidence; as well as hard indicators like SQA accreditations and engagement.

VOCATIONAL CARE PATHWAY

In tandem with the LOVE Group, LOVE Gorgie Farm provides training for the Vocational Care Pathway. This is a revolutionary scheme giving care experienced young people and armed forces veterans the opportunity to work in the care sector.

Through the Vocational Care Pathway, participants enter an SQA accredited education programme and then begin a Modern Apprenticeship, which will evolve into guaranteed employment within LOVE Care and affiliate organisations, with opportunities for promotion and career growth.

This programme is funded by the LOVE Group and is free of cost for young people and veterans looking to get involved.
