Background

The fabb young zone was formed in 2005 as a forum for our young disabled people to express their views, make their decisions about future projects and to fundraise for their own activities.

The ‘Fabb Young Zone’ was formally established in April 2005 as a constituted group with a committee including Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. The group is autonomous to Fabb Scotland and representative of young disabled people.

The object of the Fabb Young Zone

To provide young disabled people of all abilities, between the ages of 15-25 the forum to advocate for their own services, advise the board of Fabb Scotland about inclusive opportunities and to receive funding for specific initiatives as agreed.

One of the main aims of the young zone is to support young people in making their own, important decisions and to represent their views on our board of directors.

This is a chance for young people to keep in touch with the friends they have made taking part in Fabb activities and groups over the years.

Young people enjoy themed weekends, residentials and are supported to maintain long term friendships.
