COVID-19 Service UPDATE...
One to one support – we continue to support pregnant women, families and children on a one to one basis, supporting their health and well-being during these difficult months. The range of support can include welfare advice, advocacy, parenting support, emotional support and cover a range of topics which may be impacting life at home. We are undertaking some of this work face to face with families where we have deemed it safe to do so and in line with public health guidance. We can also offer this support over the phone or via video call.
Normal service details...
The family support service offers one to one support and advice for families that need more intensive support.
Each case is individual and support will be agreed with the parent(s) based upon the families needs.
Support can centre upon:
- Emotional Support
- Benefits advice
- Help with managing money / budgeting
- Employment / training advice
- Help with housing issues
- Support to attend meetings and appointments
- Identifying and accessing other services that may be able to help
- Referrals to counselling services
- Support accessing other Stepping Stones services or local groups
- Support with issues centring upon such domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health issues

Referrals...
We accept referrals for young parent families (Under 25) and pregnant women of any age living in the Forth & Inverleith wards of the City of Edinburgh. Referrals come from Health Visitors, Midwives, Social Work professionals and other organisations. Individuals can also self refer.
