COVID-19 Service UPDATE...
Group Support – We are offering small group work opportunities for families to help reduce isolation and increase opportunities for social connection, learning and play. All of these groups are taking place outdoors and in very small numbers. Whilst guidance allows it we are delivering a weekly peep group, fitness sessions with Spartans, buggy walking groups and a range of other opportunities such as exploring local green space and visiting community gardens.
Normal service details...
We offer a wide variety of group work to our parents which runs from our main office at Wardieburn and also from the Haven based within Craigroyston Primary School.
Childcare is provided during the group work times allowing parents to have time with other adults and learn new skills. On average we have around 45 parents accessing our groups every week, this includes our Dads Matters group, Baby Massage, Antenatal Groups as well as our key provision.
Wide Range of Topics
Group work topics are planned alongside our parents and we strive to include a wide range of both challenging and stimulating experiences such as; Cooking, health and well-being, Raising Children with Confidence, first aid, writing books for our children, arts and crafts, massage and relaxation, current affairs and world issues, peer education and community fundraising.
Referrals...
We accept referrals for young parent families (Under 25) and pregnant women of any age living in the Forth & Inverleith wards of the City of Edinburgh. Referrals come from Health Visitors, Midwives, Social Work professionals and other organisations. Individuals can also self refer.
