LEAP Sports Scotland's annual festival of sport
Festival Fortnight is back!
After a tough couple of years, Festival Fortnight is coming back stronger than ever in 2022.
As usual, you can apply for a small grant to run an event. Small grants of up £250 and £500 are available for sports and community groups, and up to £100 for youth groups. If you do not require financial support, you can simply list your event at https://leapsports.org/activities/festival-fortnight.
You can access the Partner Handbook at https://leapsports.org/activities/festival-fortnight, which answers all your FAQs and gives you plenty of support for running your event!

Our Festival Fortnight takes place every year in the first fortnight of June with something for everyone, including an exciting mix of sporting, recreational and cultural events and activities. The Festival aims to increase the visibility and participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTIQ+) people in Scottish sport but everyone is welcome to join in, whether it’s trying out a new sport, supporting a team in one of the competitions, or celebrating at one of the Festival parties.
If you are a sports club, organisation, or individual and are interested in running your own event during Festival Fortnight 2022, please email festivalfortnight@leapsports.org to discuss further. We are looking for a wide range of events run by community members and organisations. Your event could be a:
- Sports taster session
- Sports open day
- Mini league/competition
- Sports quiz
- Discussion panel
- Exercise class
- Film night
- Exhibition
Not sure about planning your own event, but still keen to help – email festivalfortnight@leapsports.org.
You can:
- Volunteer at an existing event
- Help with outreach during the festival
- Donate/loan any equipment, venues or other goods
If you just want to take part, that’s great too!
