Pride Youth Games (PYG) is a yearly weekend residential for 16-25 year old lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, non-binary, queer and other diversely identifying young people.
It provides a space to meet and get to know other young people from across the UK, and is a chance to try out different sports and activities in a safe, inclusive and validating environment, and an opportunity to explore wellbeing for LGBTIQ+ young people.
The weekend is entirely FREE and has been very popular in past years.
Pride Youth Games rotates between Scotland, Wales and England and is held in a different place each year: Carlisle in 2015, Stirling in 2016, Pembrokeshire in 2018 and Manchester in 2019. The events occur in partnership with Pride Sports and LGBT+ Sport Cymru.
This year PYG is on the 12th-14th of August 2022 in Largs, Scotland at the SportScotland National Sports Training Centre Inverclyde.
We are hoping to provide taster sessions of activities such as:
- Coastal rowing
- Roller derby
- Archery
- Korfbal
- Rugby
- Yoga
- Tennis
- Gym instruction
- Football
- Dodgeball
- Kickboxing
- Parkour
- Fencing
We will also have a POOL PARTY, board games, fun social activities, quiet space, and free time.
You will sleep in twin rooms, get breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and get help with travel.
