Improving knowledge and capacity of the sports sector.

Actively Included Training...

We run this course in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

LEAP Sports Scotland has developed a training programme called Actively Included, aimed at sports governing bodies, national sports organisations, sports coaches and volunteers.

We offer both individual places on our standard training session or can create more bespoke sessions for groups larger than ten. On both options the exercises are designed to be interactive and engaging, so participants learn through problem solving, discussion and debate. We use pre- and post-training questionnaires and evaluation to help demonstrate the impact of the training on participants.

Actively Included covers the following:

- LGBTI definitions
- Inclusive and discriminatory language
- Barriers faced by LGBTI people in sport
- Personal experiences from LGBTI players
- Real life scenarios
- ‘On the spot’ training in answering questions on LGBTI issues
- Equalities legislation in practice
- Organisational/club action planning

We run this course in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Seminar Series...

We offer seminars which create a space to explore specific issues in some depth, hear up to date narratives and developments in that area, consider the various nuances and sport specific implications, and to identify and consider best practice and good practice examples.
