The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

The knitting group is a very pleasant social occasion. Our participants range from experienced knitters to total beginners - there always seems to be someone happy to help with advice or to give demonstrations to us less able knitters! People can knit whatever they like - from Balaclavas for Deep Sea Fisherman, bonnets for premature babies, to Prayer Shawls for our own congregation, You can crochet or sew if you like - knitting is not compulsory!

Everyone is welcome to drop in for all or any of this time on a regular or occasional basis. Members of the group bring along their own knitting or sewing projects and help is available if needed for beginner knitters from those more experienced. Between projects we are encouraging members to knit items for babies and children which are passed on to various charities.

Some people bring their packed lunch with them and others just have tea or coffee and biscuits. Everyone is very welcome and do come along and join us.

This is a friendly church run community group that would welcome new members. This is a social group that enjoy tea/biscuits and chatting whilst they work.
