PALM is a social group café for people in Balerno, Currie or Juniper Green with advanced loss of memory or dementia and their carers.
The PALM café aims:
- To provide a space for people with memory loss and their carers to meet others for support and social contact.
- To use activities such as music, movement, reminiscence and craft to enhance the wellbeing of the person with advanced memory loss.
- To provide an opportunity for informal support and information for carers.
What do we offer?
A varied programme of activities including music, movement, reminiscence and craft. We have regular guest speakers, entertainment and a summer outing. Tea, coffee and delicious cakes are provided for a small donation.
The PALM café is held in the St Joseph’s Centre, Balerno on the last Tuesday of the month from 2.30pm to 4pm.
This is a group for people who are able to attend safely on their own or who are accompanied by someone to support them.
We welcome volunteers to help in the running of the group. You do not require any previous experience and any time you can give will be greatly appreciated.
If you would be interested in attending this group and would like more information please contact Kay Latimer by telephone or email.
