Fast Forward has designed and developed an approach which uses theatre to raise awareness and pose questions on a variety of risk taking behaviours for young people in Scotland.
Over the last 4 years of the project, nine new Peer Theatre plays have been produced and toured to over 400 High Schools and Academies in every local authority in Scotland, and to an audience of young people that has exceeded 79,000.
More information on these projects at https://www.fastforward.org.uk/projects/arts-and-theatre-projects.
The ‘Own It’ project was developed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, creating and develop online games.
OWN IT...
OWN IT is an approach whereby young people create and play non-linear, story-telling games. The games are then shared with their peers and can have multiple endings, depending on the players’ choices.. These decision-based games are a peer inspiration project that promotes better understanding and knowledge of risk taking behaviour.
Developed during and in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Own It projects works directly with groups of young people from schools, youth clubs and community centres. Sessions are online and, when restrictions allow, face-to-face.
We thereby engage young people creatively, posing questions, opening discussions and involving young people in developing a brand new resource.
