If we receive calls for non-emergency work, the client will be offered a place on the Volunteer Handyperson Service waiting list for when we are able to reinstate the service. Alternatively, we will offer the opportunity to use our Small Repairs Service where our fully qualified joiner will carry out work at a cost of £32 for the first hour and £26 for every hour thereafter.
The Care and Repair Edinburgh Small Repairs and Handyperson Services complement each other.
We have two Care and Repair joiners who carry out small joinery repairs.
Typical jobs include:
- Fitting handles to doors and windows
- Fitting handrails and bath or shower aids
- Fitting draught excluders
- Fitting locks and security items
- Replacing broken sash cords
- Replacing rotten window sills
- Re-puttying existing windows
A small charge is made for this service, plus the cost of any materials.

The Handyperson Service offers a FREE home safety/security check and we will install a range of security items if required.
