The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

IMPORTANT

Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

Shakti Women's Aid

Details
Shakti Women’s Aid works with schools, colleges and universities in Edinburgh, the Lothians and beyond to support higher and further education students on placement, from short-term week-long allocations to 6 month placements.

All higher education requests must come directly from schools (who are registered with Gateway School Work Experience Programme or West Lothian Council’s Enterprise in Education Programme); further education requests can be made by individual students but must be followed by a meeting with placement supervisor/coordinator of the university or college.

If you are interested to learn more about our placements or would like to discuss a possible placement with us, please contact the Information & Education Team on 0131 558 2500 or 0131 475 2399.

For reasons of confidentiality however Shakti Women’s Aid does not take on volunteers.
