Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

On a Sunday Morning our popular Sunday School meets with groups for all ages. There is a creche where children under 2½ are looked after so parents can attend worship.

At the Beginners Sunday School, for children of two and a half to school age, the younger children enjoy learning about the Christian faith through stories, music, handwork and structured play.

For children of primary school age there are the Primary and Junior Sunday Schools. Here the children follow the Seasons of the Spirit teaching material which is closely integrated with the material used for the main service, giving the children a sense of being part of the Church. The readings from the service are followed up in the themes of the Sunday School activities. Children learn of God’s love through listening, activity and participation in their groups.

The Senior Sunday School, for secondary age children takes a more pro-active approach and they enjoy discussing many topics, from what happened to them that week to the pressing news stories from around the world.

Learning about being a Christian in today’s world they run a successful Fairtrade Stall and prepare and take the Christian Aid Service each year helping to raise awareness within the church of these global issues.
