Dads Rock run playgroups for dads and their kids aged 0 - 5 years! With the focus on learning through play, there is music, both rock and traditional, storytelling, healthy eating snacks and games.
IMPROVING OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN BY INSPIRING DADS AND FAMILIES
Our overall aim is to improve outcomes for children in Scotland to ensure the best start in life by providing support to Dads and families.
We do this through:
Weekly lessons for Young people (7yrs+) and families. Outcomes - Music making is more accessible. Encouraging self expression and improving self esteem.
Monthly workshops for all Dads. Outcomes - Dads recognise the importance of their role. Parents learn new skills.
Weekly groups for Dads/male carers and Children (0-5yrs). Outcomes - Dads and children develop closer relationships. Dads and children have fun.
Primary School Work...
Regular sessions in schools. Outcomes - Children have the opportunity to take part in activities with their dads in the school setting.
Secondary School Work...
Regular workshops in schools. Outcomes - Young people will increase their understanding of the role of a dad in today’s society.
1:1 support for vulnerable Dads aged 25 and under. Outcomes - Give Young Men the skills and confidence to enjoy the experience of being a Dad.
