Established in 1996 the Ripple is a registered Scottish Charity No. SC024973 and Company Limited by Guarantee No. 214363. Community-led in approach and based at Restalrig, Lochend Community Hub the Ripple delivers a wide range of projects designed to help local people to help themselves. With over 80 volunteering opportunities available every week it is our volunteers who lie at the heart of the Ripple. Together with a small staff team they support the delivery of a wide range of projects and activities on offer here at the community Hub.
Our projects have developed in response to the many issues we face here and include a daily lunch club and social club for older people with door to door transport included, 1-1 listening support for people in crisis, healthy hub walking groups, knitting, exercise and creative writing groups and cooking classes. The Ripple Youth Service delivers open access youth work across the primary and high school age range with a broad programme of projects and activities from weekly drop in open access youth clubs, girls groups, detached youth work and peer mentoring. The Ripple publishes a monthly community newspaper, The Speaker, delivered free to 6500 local homes and we also run a community cafe, the Hub Grub Cafe.
