Imagine being homeless and losing all of your possessions. You could be sleeping on a friend’s sofa, living in a hostel, or on the streets. You’ve not only lost your material possessions but any hope for the future. Then you are offered the tenancy of a flat, a glimmer of hope, an opportunity to start again. But you have nothing - where do you begin?
Fresh Start can help by providing our Starter Packs, basic essential household goods to help set up and sustain your new home. There are 10 packs in total that we can provide: -
Cleaning products; crockery and cutlery; curtains; food; pots; kitchen utensils; single or double bedding; small electrical appliances; toiletries and towels

Fresh Start Starter Packs is run in partnership with Gateway to Homes and Communities (Bethany Christian Trust). It provides homeless families and individuals with essential household items when they move into their new tenancy.
If you have just moved into your tenancy, ask your Housing Officer to complete the referral form at https://www.freshstartweb.org.uk/starter-packs and send it directly to them. You can also apply for our Starter Packs using this form and sending it to the Gateway Project. If you have any questions for the Project, please contact them on 0131 561 8903.
Fresh Start are unable to accept or offer items of furniture, however, we work in partnership with the Bethany Gateway Project, who can help with these items. The Bethany Gateway Project also accepts donations of furniture items.
