Only services that are currently available during COVID-19 are listed in the directory.
In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. - Self Help/Support
- Sensory Impairment
We support people living with disabilities, long term conditions or facing challenging life situations to live well, whatever that means to them.
We support people to take control of their life, focusing on the person, not their situation. We listen to what a person tells us they need and we tailor our support around that, working beside people until they are able to manage life without us.
Our support takes many different forms...
Health and wellbeing - self-management support for people with long term conditions to focus on developing coping strategies to get life back on track.
Supported Living - personalised support packages for people with disabilities to live independently in their own homes.
Thistle's Gym - accessible community gym open to all
Thistle YP - support for young disabled people moving from school to adult life to plan for the future of their choice.
The Thistle Shed - is a place for men, particularly veterans, to socialise and spend time on their own terms.
Volunteer training - so people with lived experience of long term conditions can deliver our work in their communities.
Children's Wellbeing - working with local schools, introducing children to strategies and tools that build resilience and support wellbeing
