Dementia Day Care Service
The St Bernard’s Club is a registered day centre which supports older people who have dementia and their Carers. Our St Bernard’s Club offers a safe and friendly place for those who enjoy company, who may feel isolated and alone and want to get out of the house and do something different. We have trained care workers who offer opportunities for you to socialise and have fun through a variety of activities like music, outings, craft activities and special themed events.
The club can accommodate 12 people each day.
We welcome enquiries from ethnic minorities.
WHO ARE WE HERE FOR?
Anyone with dementia, aged 50 plus.
WHAT WILL YOU DO AT ST BERNARD’S?
There are lots of fun activities to interest everyone: like singing, baking, balloon badminton and tai chi are just a few of the things our members love. That, after all, is what extra years of zest is all about; doing things you can still enjoy, however big or small.
Include quizzes, board games, music & movement, reminiscence, craft activities, singing etc. Our garden space is very popular too and great for outdoor recreation activities.
ARE MEALS PROVIDED?
Breakfast - You’ll begin your day having toast, tea and a good old blether with staff and fellow members around our cosy kitchen table.
Lunch - Two tasty and nutritious homemade courses that you can choose on arrival.
Afternoon snack - Before you leave, there’s tea and biscuits or, when the weather merits it, Flake 99’s all round.
