Vintage Vibes is an award-winning project tackling isolation and loneliness in Edinburgh.
The project, a partnership between LifeCare Edinburgh and Space & Broomhouse Hub, started in 2015 as a fresh new way to combat isolation and loneliness among over 60s (called VIPs) in Edinburgh.
Vintage Vibes creates long lasting one-to-one friendships offering support, companionship and the opportunity for lonely VIPs to be more socially connected and active in their local community.

Are you feeling lonely?
Sometimes all it takes is a cup of tea and a blether to help with those feelings of isolation and loneliness. If you’re over 60, living in Edinburgh and would like some company, then we’re here to help.
We are now taking referrals for over 60s who would like a visit from a volunteer on a weekly basis.
Our innovative approach to friendships has been in high demand since we started, and we currently have a waiting list in Edinburgh.
We know that waiting is frustrating, and we want to help find a companion for our VIPs (our over 60s) as soon as possible – but we place great importance on matching our VIPs with the right match, so that a long-term and meaningful friendship can develop.
In order to not leave VIPs on the waiting list for too long, we hope you can understand that we have decided to open for referrals from specific areas – these are places where we know we have volunteers on the way.
Currently our volunteers are able to visit in person both in and out of the home or via telephone (or a mixture of all 3) subject to ongoing guidance.
We have a small amount of capacity to accept referrals in the following postcodes only:
EH3 - New Town and West End
EH6 - Leith
EH7 - Broughton and Restalrig
EH8 - Meadowbank, Abbeyhill and Piershill
EH16 - Liberton and Gilmerton
Note that we are unable to accept referrals for other postcode areas of the city at this moment in time.

Our events and groups are about making new friends, discovering (or rediscovering!) interests and getting the best out of life in your local community.
Vocal Vibes...
Singing to our own tune! Meet new friends and rediscover beautiful music through the decades in a fun, relaxed setting.
Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, Greyfriars Charteris Centre.
Vocal Vibes are welcoming new singers to the group, and there is no audition to get involved.

Vintage Vibes Film Group...
We are now back up and running again ! Meet new friends via a love of film again!
The group meets monthly at a cinema on Lothian Road to watch a film (often at a reduced/subsidised price!) and have a cup of tea and a blether afterwards.
